DigiStamp Boutique DT Card...

Hi all, hope you're having a good week? It's busy here again. But this time next week the children should be back at school, and normality will hopefully be returning here at Inky Hands Towers.

Somehow I managed to squeeze in a little crafty time and make a DT card for DigiStamp Boutique. This is also a commissioned card I've been asked to make for a Wedding Anniversary. I used this very sweet & versatile image from the Louie Love Collection.

I used the PNG version of Louie, and layered him up in 'Page Plus' onto one of Pink Gem Designs stunning Distressed Hearts digi papers. Louie remained blank ready to colour, but with a pretty heart background.
I used Copics to colour, and Copic glitter pen to add faux stitching and writing in the heart.

Other Ingredients;
Prima 'Tea Thyme' papers,
Memory Box La Rue Heart Die,
Leone Em leaf punch,
X Cut Scallop Border Punch,
Lili Of The Valley Tag Sentiment Stamps,
Fabric Alphabet Thickers,
Blooms and Trim from my stash,
Dovecraft Buttons,
Stardust Stickles.

Thank you so much for looking.
Off to find some cheap breakdown cover now. My AA cover has just expired and I wouldn't be without it now after we had to be recovered whilst on holiday in Wales last month.
PS, sorry if you are still hearing those stupid audio ads on my blog. They are nothing to do with me. If anyone knows a fix I would to hear it.

A Gem Of A Challenge 53 ~ Animals Or Teddies

Hi all.
Firstly I would like to apologise once again for the very annoying audio ads that have somehow embedded themselves on my blog. Harmless but annoying. I know some of you can hear them, and some can't (depends on your browser from what I can gather). They are for everyday household products, and are nothing to do with craft...and nothing to do with me! I've tried everything I can think of to get rid of them with no success....and I'm on the verge of deleting my whole blog. I put a lot of time into my cards and blog and I know my readers don't want to hear that rubbish when they visit. I wonder if any of you have been affected too? I know just one other lady who also has this annoying problem on her blog.
I can only suggest you hit the 'mute' button for now before you hop over to see me.

So today I'm here to tell you about A Gem of A Challenge 53 ~ Vicky's theme Animals & Teddies.

The challenge will run for 2 weeks, and there are 4 fab Pink Gem Designs digis up for grabs.

I've no card to show you today as our DT has now been split into 2 teams. Half will post their creations today (please pop over to see), and the rest of us will post at the beginning of the second week.

PS...have you checked out our brand new Inspiration Blog yet?
We have yummy candy up for grabs if you'd like to follow us.
Starting next week out lovely DT will be posting regular projects over there to inspire you!

Thanks for stopping by!

Cute Mermaids At DigiStamp Boutique...

Hi all! Wow the summer hols are flying by. I planned to do so much late night crafting without all those horrid early morning school runs to get up for, but the kids are totally wearing me out! I'm whacked by the time they're asleep.

It's taken me days to get this one finished. It's a DT make for DigiStamp Boutique using these fabby new Cute Mermaids. They are on 'offer of the month' at the moment too!

 * Offer of the month - Cute mermaids

Here's how I made it;

*In my free program, 'Page Plus' (dowloaded HERE), I opened up a digital paper from the Echo Park Splash Collection...which you can download HERE.
*I then opened up PNG (transparent) version of this mermaid over the top of the paper. This leaves mermaid blank ready to colour with my Copics...but the background patterned. She looks like she's in the sea don't you think?...
*I printed off another mermaid at the same size, so I could layer up just her head & hair to give her hair a bit of movement.
*I coloured her using Copics, white pen & stardust Stickles.
*The other papers are also Echo Park Splash. I used a craft knife to cut around the swirly pattern of the orange one, and tucked it up over the mermaid layer like a wave.

Other ingredients;
Whimsy Stamps Corner dies,
A Sizzix Sizzlits decorative strip alphabet die,
Sizzlits fish die (I think this was from a Hello Kitty set),
Card Candy,
Shimmer Dots,
On The Edge card blank.

 Here's another piccy...I think it shows the shimmery tail a bit better.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
PS...if anyone can still hear those annoying audio adverts for random household products when you visit my blog, could you please let me know. I *think* It's sorted now..but really not sure. Not sure why they were there in the first place....very annoying!

Apologies For Strange Problem - Any Help Appreciated!

Morning all. Just thought I should pop a post on to apologise for a strange problem that seems to be happening on my blog.

Since I came back from my hols, there seems to be some strange audio content playing when I click on my blog.  This is not a pop up (I know some have had problems with pop ups appearing on their blogs) just audio content playing. Not everytime, just now and then. The audio is adverts for well known washing powder, foot cream and toilet cleaner!!??  I know a few others have noticed this as you've mentioned it to me.

I presume it's totally harmless just very, very annoying! I just want assure you this has nothing to do with me, and I'm feeling very frustrated as I haven't the foggiest clue how to get rid of it. Before my holiday I popped a Facebook badge in my sidebar. I've got rid of it but the problem is still happening. So I presume it is nothing to do with Facebook. Any help would be more than appreciated. Thank you,
Jenny xx

The new challenge begins today. So without further ado, here's my very first Sugar Bowl DT card based on a fab sketch by the very talented Maria, with the optional theme of BUTTERFLIES:

A Gem Of A Challenge 52...

Hi all! Sorry I'm a day late posting my A Gem Of A Challenge DT card, but we only got back from our break in North Wales yesterday teatime, and with all the washing and chaos, I couldn't get on here to do it.
This time it's Vicky's turn to host, and she has a  sketch for you to follow...

For my DT card I used this super sweet digi called 'Jodie With Baubles' from Pink Gem Designs.
I used my Copics to colour her.

Other Ingredients;
Fancy Pants Winterland Papers,
Dark Brown card,
Floral Oval Nestabilities - in stock now at Pink Gem Designs,
Scalloped Nesties,
Memory Box Frosty border,
Seam Binding,
Craftwork Cards sentiment,
Gems.

Hope you'll join us with our challenge. Four Pink Gem Designs digis up for grabs for one lucky winner.

We had a lovely holiday in Wales....when we eventually got there! We broke down on the way and had to be towed the last leg of the journey by the AA. The very helpful AA man was wonderful. He even towed us to a pub/hotel car park so we could use the loo. Then towed us to our holiday park in Towyn, where he off loaded us and our luggage before taking our poorly car to the nearest Vauxhall garage. Our caravan was really lovely and also huge (8 berth) It was a pain being without our car but there was lots to do around the park for the kids. Then my Mum & Dad drove up to us for a couple of days which was lovely, and at least we had some transport at last! My sister and her family also came to visit. Four days and £217 later, we had our car back all fixed. An expensive holiday in the end. Glad to be home!

Thanks for stopping by!
