The Sugar Bowl 98 ~ Fi's Sketch...

Hi all. Are you having a good week?  If like me you're probably rushing around like crazy people trying to get organised for the big day.  It doesn't help with all the germs and bugs the kids keep picking up from school, resulting in days home!

Anyway, we have a new challenge for you over at The Sugar Bowl. The last one of 2012. This time our lovely Fiona has a sketch for you to follow;
With an optional theme of 'Let It Snow'.

Unfortunately I couldn't follow the theme this time as I had a special Birthday card I needed to make.
I used 'In The Garden' available here.
I coloured it with my Copics.

The papers are Fancy Pants 'Summer's End' and the ticket sentiments are by 'Whimsy Stamps'

Please join us if you can.....4 Sugar Nellie stamps for the lucky winner.

I'm off to continue with my rushing around.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

I paper pieced his jumper with some Pink Petticoat spotty paper, and coloured the rest with my Copics.

The Birthday Wish List is a fab stamp by Whimsy Stamps, and the tag sentiments are Lili Of The Valley.

Cute Mermaids At DigiStamp Boutique...

Hi all! Wow the summer hols are flying by. I planned to do so much late night crafting without all those horrid early morning school runs to get up for, but the kids are totally wearing me out! I'm whacked by the time they're asleep.

It's taken me days to get this one finished. It's a DT make for DigiStamp Boutique using these fabby new Cute Mermaids. They are on 'offer of the month' at the moment too!

 * Offer of the month - Cute mermaids

Here's how I made it;

*In my free program, 'Page Plus' (dowloaded HERE), I opened up a digital paper from the Echo Park Splash Collection...which you can download HERE.
*I then opened up PNG (transparent) version of this mermaid over the top of the paper. This leaves mermaid blank ready to colour with my Copics...but the background patterned. She looks like she's in the sea don't you think?...
*I printed off another mermaid at the same size, so I could layer up just her head & hair to give her hair a bit of movement.
*I coloured her using Copics, white pen & stardust Stickles.
*The other papers are also Echo Park Splash. I used a craft knife to cut around the swirly pattern of the orange one, and tucked it up over the mermaid layer like a wave.

Other ingredients;
Whimsy Stamps Corner dies,
A Sizzix Sizzlits decorative strip alphabet die,
Sizzlits fish die (I think this was from a Hello Kitty set),
Card Candy,
Shimmer Dots,
On The Edge card blank.

 Here's another piccy...I think it shows the shimmery tail a bit better.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
PS...if anyone can still hear those annoying audio adverts for random household products when you visit my blog, could you please let me know. I *think* It's sorted now..but really not sure. Not sure why they were there in the first place....very annoying!

Whoopee!.....I Can't Believe I'm A Sweetie!...

 Hi all! I'm so excited today. I've been bursting to share some news with you. A few weeks back, Gayle from The Sugar Bowl asked if I'd like to become a Sugar Bowl Sweetie! We'll as most of you know I'm a huge Sugar Nellie fan and have been since they began......so after a moments thought I naturally jumped at the chance!

The new challenge begins today. So without further ado, here's my very first Sugar Bowl DT card based on a fab sketch by the very talented Maria, with the optional theme of BUTTERFLIES:

I thought this sweet Sassy stamp would be perfect for the butterfly theme. I had such fun colouring her with my Copics.

Other Ingredients;
DCWV Mariposa Papers,
Dark Brown Card,
Memory Box Butterfly, Elegant Scroll & Lorelai Leaf Dies,
Whimsy Stamp Sentiment Stamps,
Stardust Stickles,
Sewing Machine,
Pearl Hearts from Meiflower.

Hope you like my first DT card and feel inspired to join us this time. We have 4 fabulous Sugar Nellie stamps up for grabs for one lucky winner (this will rise to 6 if we get over 100 entries).

Please do check out the other fab makes by the rest of the Sweeties...they're totally stunning!

I'm also linking up this sweet Sassy to the current Saturated Canary Challenge ~ Great Outdoors.

Thanks so much for stopping by,

The Sugar Bowl....

Hi all on this rainy Father's Day (here in the UK). What better weather to stay in and craft?..
So today I made a little creation for the latest challenge over at The Sugar Bowl, following a fab sketch by Maria Therese with the optional theme 'One For The Boys'.

I used this adorable 'Nathan' digi stamp from funky Kits, and coloured him with my Copics.

Other Ingredients;
Papermania Card Blank,
Webster's Pages,
Other papers from my scraps box,
Lili Of The Valley Sentiment Tag stamps,
Tim Holtz Distress Markers,
Whimsy Corner Dies,
Red Copic Glitter Pen (for faux stitching),
Mini Brads.

I used my Distress Markers to ink up the sentiment stamps. I used 3 colours including Black Soot & Barn Door to give a multi coloured, distressed finish. Just remember to give your stamp a quick huff of breath to revive the ink before stamping.

I am loving my Distress Markers so far. I'd been wondering whether to get them or not for weeks, but eventually gave in and went for the full set (early birthday treat) .

I've also been having a go at water colouring with them this weekend.
I will hopefully show you some finished images using them really soon.

Thanks so much for popping by. I'm off to get all the school things ready for the morning then I'll pop back for a catch up with your blogs too.
