Papertake Weekly GDT Card...

It's that time of the week again for a new challenge over at Papertake Weekly. There is a $25 voucher up for grabs from Simon Says Stamp this week.

Here is my 3rd card for my month long GDT spot. This week the theme is 'In Stitches'.
My card has real stitches, faux stitches, and stitched buttons too!

But what a drama I had doing the real stitches. I used my 'Sew Crafty Mini' which is a tiny little sewing machine that I got free some time ago, with a magazine subscription. It has one speed...FAST....and one stitch...WONKY!! (or maybe that's just me lol!) Well anyway, the batteries decided to run out half way around, and my paper was stuck! I was searching around for more batteries and ended up nabbing them from the remote control! Then I had to change them over with paper still stuck lol! So yes I know it's a wonky job but I was past caring by the time I'd finished. Never mind...

The cutie hedgehog is Birthday Spike from the DigiStamp Boutique.

I have coloured him with Promarkers, and Memento Inks for the background.

The papers are Dovecraft Piece Of Cake.

I have also used;

Papermania pink scalloped card blank, Nestabilities Labels 1, flowers, cord & buttons.

I will put this into the 'Let's Go Digital' challenge over at Crafty Catz.

Well I am really tired now, so off to bed soon. Thanks so much for popping by!

Squiggle Stamps DT Call...

Hi all! Well we've had a bit of rain overnight but it's still so HOT!! I could do with it cooling off a bit now so I had a bit more energy to get stuff done. The heat really drains me.
Moving on to my card then. Squiggle Stamps are having a DT call which is open until the end of the month. I bought six Squiggle Stamps last year and they are very cute, so I thought I'd try my luck. I was spoilt for choice which one to use. I opted for Daisy With Bunny in the end.

I have coloured her with good old Promarkers. I used my out of the box technique again today, and mounted her onto Big Scalloped Nestabilities.

The gorgeous papers are DCWV Garden Party.
I have pricked the edges to add detail.
I have also used;
6x6 Cream scalloped card blank (Craftwork Cards),
X Cut scallop punch,
Buttons, ribbon, twine & plastic sentiment from my stash.

I will also enter this card into the Pink & Brown colour challenge over at ONE STOP CRAFT.

Well that's all for now...thanks for popping by!

I have paper pieced Marvin's leaves with 'willow' coloured plain paper from Pink Petticoat, which I have printed onto linen paper.
Marvin is coloured with Promarkers.

I have also used;
raffia ribbon,
card candy,
paper flowers.

I Love Ice Cream! ('Out Of The Box' Tutorial)...

Hi all! Phew, the heat has really been zapping my energy of late. I wish it would cool down a bit so I can get some crafting done! This is a card I made late last night. I had to force myself to stay awake or else I just wouldn't get anything made.
First I will just mention that I have used the sketch from this week's I Love Promarker's challenge.
I have also used the theme from Passion For Promarkers, which is 'my favourite things'...come on, who doesn't love ice cream? lol!
The image I am using today is 'Beach Alfie' from DigiStamp Boutique. Sally-Ann has released some stunning designs this month, including lots more summer/beach themed stamps. You can find them all here.

Now first today, before I tell you more about my card, I have a little tutorial for you. I often 'out of the box' my images on my cards. This is because I sometimes find Nesties are just too small! I like to print my digis out quite large and stamps seem to be getting bigger too. Big is in!
I often have comments asking how this is done. So this is for those who have asked....
First, I put the die down onto the image in the desired position. I then make feint pencil marks just inside the die in the areas that would be cut off should I use the die in the regular way.

Then I cut down into the paper and carefully around the image, down to the pencil marks. I take great care not to hack any bits of paper off at this stage, just incase I cut down too far.

Then I put the die back down and tuck the protruding bits out over the TOP of the die. In this case his head, ice cream and I have done the corner of the star fish just in case!
I then put through the Wizard in the regular way. Just make sure his bits are sticking out over the TOP or he will end up with no head!

Et Voila! Ready to colour. Here I have left him in the die whilst I colour the background with my sponge dauber and sky blue pigment ink.

Now he's all ready to colour using my Promarkers.

For today's card I have also used,
DCWV papers,
Scalloped Oval Nestabilities,
Fiskars apron lace punch,
DCWV chipboard shape & sentiment,
ribbon,
card candy.
I hope my tutorial today has been of some use!
Thanks for stopping by!

Papertake Weekly GDT Card...

Hi all!
Phew, it's gone 7pm and the weather is still scorching here! It's nice, but I just can't get on with anything. How long will it last I wonder?..
Anyway, here is my GDT card for this weeks challenge over at Papertake Weekly. This week is a sketch challenge. Please pop over and check it out, there are fab prizes to be had as always!
I just had to use my new Sugar Nellie stamp called 'Worried' from Funky Kits, by artist Kathy Hare. I just love this stamp because it looks just like my 2 year old Ben cuddling his teddy!
I used Nestabilities Lables 3 to cut him out. I 'out of the boxed' his head and teddy's foot. Then whilst still in the die I used my finger dauber and umber, aqua and blue pigment inks to colour the background.
I used my Promarkers to colour the image.

The papers are a mixture of DCWV Linen Closet & Basic Grey Kraft.
I also used;
EK Success Ivy Punch,
Buttons,
Twine.
Free digi sentiment from The Creative Cottage. (printed out onto linen paper and coloured again with the pigment inks)

I have found a few challenges to enter this card into;

One Stop Craft Challenge - one for the boys

Creative Inspirations - one for the boys

Crafty Cardmakers - cards for men

Fab'n'Funky - Just For Dad

Thanks for stopping by, and I will be paying you a visit too at some point during this week!Please don't forget to check out the challenge over at PTW!

Happy Birthday My Little Jessie!...

Hope you're having a great weekend? My 'productive' crafty day yesterday never came off. My little boy wasn't happy colouring in for for long and was soon creating his own havoc, so mine came to and abrupt end! So sorry, no card to show you today!
I doubt I'll get much done this weekend either. I have decided to have a little party in the garden tomorrow, to celebrate my daughter Jessica's 8th Birthday. The weather is supposed to be good, so fingers crossed!
I can't believe she will be 8 already. Doesn't time fly?! This picture doesn't seem like yesterday. She was about 3 months old!....

.....and here aged 4.....

....and now! All grown up, or so she thinks!...lol.....

Well that's enough from me for now. Got a party to organise.
Sorry if I still haven't got around to leaving you some comments yet this week. Hopefully tonight when all are asleep and I get my 'me' time.....

Summer Ice Cream...

Hi all! Can't believe another week has gone by! Can I just apologise if I haven't stopped by at your blog yet this week. I keep trying in the evenings but have not been able to keep my eyes open beyond a few comments. I will catch up at the weekend...promise!!
Today I share a card that I made last week. I actually made this with the intention of it being my GDT card for Papertake Weekly's Ice Cream colours challenge. Then I realised we were using sponsors images this week...doh!!

This Sugar Nellie stamp is called Summer Ice Cream and is available at Funky Kits.
I stamped her in Memento Rich Cocoa ink. I coloured her with Promarkers.

I also used;
Pink Petticoat papers,
Nestabilities Labels 13,
Plastic sentiment,
Ribbon & brads.

I decoupaged the little doggy and the ice cream.

I will put this into the Crafts & Me challenge for 'Friends & Family'.
I'm off to do hopefully make a few cards now. Housework done. Washing done. Ben is happily colouring in, so fingers crossed for me that I have a productive day!

Oliver The Owl (In The Pink!)...

Good evening all! I just realised that I hadn't blogged this creation yet. I made it on Sunday when it was chucking it down outside. I had a nice crafty day inside :-)

I used this lovely Oliver digi stamp from the DigiStamp Boutique. He is also part of the monthly special offer over there. Although he is perfect for 'male' cards, he is just as good on female creations...very versatile!
Before I took him out of the Nestie die, I used my sponge dauber and scarlet ink pad to create a subtle background. I then coloured him with Promarkers.

I also used;
Henbury Lane Papers,
Martha Stewart embossed scallop punch,
Grosgrain ribbon in scarlet & pink (which I entwined),
Charm & chain,
Pearls & Card Candy.
Thanks for stopping by today, and for any comments you might leave...they mean so much to me! I hope to catch up on some commenting at the weekend.

Papertake Weekly GDT Card...

Hi all! Hope you are well? I am pleased to reveal my first card for Papertake Weekly as Guest Designer. the challenge this week is to create a card using ice cream colours. I was thinking along the lines of neopolitan when I made this.

I was asked to use this cute image provided by this weeks sponsor Di's Digital Downloads.
The image, which I coloured with Promarkers, is called 'A Very Special Note From Bunny', but it reminds me of the kids writing out their Birthday/Christmas lists whilst flicking through the pages of the Argos catalogue. That's why I chose to add the 'wish' charm.

The papers are Pink Petticoat.
I also used; Martha Stewart zig-zag punch, Nestabilities labels 1, raffia ribbon, grosgrain ribbon & card candy.

Thanks for looking and please pop over there to join in the challenge fun!

bfn.

Simple Daisy (Crafts & Me Challenge)...

Hi all!
Hope you've had a good weekend? It's been chucking it down all day here!
So I haven't set foot out of the house, so had a crafty day instead. I really enjoyed making this card. I really love my 'Daisy' stamp from funky kits, and fancied inking her up. She is a joy to colour.
I stamped her onto smooth white card with Memento rich cocoa ink. I then cut her using Nestabilities Labels 1. Before I took her out of the die, I used my sponge finger dauber to colour the background with sky blue pigment ink. I cut another shape from white linen card and used the finger dauber again, this time with umber pigment ink.
I then used Promarkers to colour Daisy. I added detail with my white Signo gel pen.
Then I folded a piece of kraft card to make an A6 size card with the fold at the top though, and used white & umber pigment inks to stamp along the bottom. The stamp I used is a little Imaginisce clear stamp. It was only 99p!

The rest is self explanatory I think. Ribbon, button, twine, brad & plastic 'friend' sentiment.

Hope you like my card as much as I enjoyed making it! I am putting it into the Crafts & Me challenge - Friends & Family.

Thanks for stopping by!

Princess Kaya In Pink!...

Hello friends!
It's so nice outside today, I really shouldn't be stuck in, so I'll try and make it quick lol!
This is a card I have made using the sketch from this weeks I Love Promarkers Challenge. I have flipped it on it's side ladies...I hope this is allowed? I had to flip it or else my beautiful sparkly crown ribbon just wouldn't have looked right, and I just HAD to use it!
I will also put this into Passion For Promarkers Pink Birthdays.
I have used my gorgeous Princess Kaya polymer stamp from Pink Gem Designs.
I used my Promarkers to colour her.
Other products used were;
Basic Grey papers (I think I took these from my Bitter Sweet pad, off the top of my head)
Heart nesties,
Martha Stewart heart lace border punch,
Ribbon,
Gems,
Pearl Brads,
Flowers,
Plastic sentiment,
& Photo Anchors
Thanks so much for looking and for any comments you might leave. Can I also thank my followers for your continued support,and also thanks to anyone who has commented on my blog recently. I really appreciate it! I have been really busy this week, but I promise I will pay you a visit, hopefully tonight or tomorrow night!
