My Promarker Storage...

Happy Friday everyone! Where does the time go? I was going to post these pics on Wednesday for 'What's On Your Work Desk Wednesday' but busy, busy......

So here they are now, on Friday, a couple of days late. I just wanted to show you my latest way of storing my Promarkers.

I have always stored my beloved Copics flat, in shallow boxes and trays. This takes up lots of space though, they're a pain to move around the house (I craft all over the house) and I can't really find the right colour very quickly. Now that I have built up my collection of Promarkers, I seem to use these more than my Copics (mainly because they are cheaper to replace) and I wanted a space saving solution. Most importantly of all, I wanted to be able to pick out the right colour quickly without searching.

This little basket was only a £1 from Tesco a while back. It has a handle so is easy to carry about the house or to take to my Mum's. It fits around 110 promarkers in it.

With Promarkers all having a black lid, I punched out lots of little sticky circles with a tiny hole punch from a sheet of white labels, and coloured each with the actual pen to give a true colour. Now, I am sure that you can buy sheets of tiny circle stickers, but I like to make life difficult for myself, lol! It took ages to do!

As you can see, I also put the initials of each colour name on each pen, as some colours are very similar. I have also made a colour swatch showing the 'true' colour of each pen. I have divided the basket with scrap card (nothing fancy-lol!) to make 3 colour families; reds/pinks/lilacs, oranges/browns/naturals, greens/yellows/blues. All this means I can pick out the colour I want almost instantly.

In retrospect maybe I should have numbered each colour on my swatch, and put the corresponding number on each pen rather than initials. But never mind, this way works fine for me!

I know some people say that you should store them flat but as I only really use the fine tip, I find it handy storing them with this tip down. I have actually managed to revive a couple of mine this way. My girls had left the lids off them, lol!

If you were worried I guess you could store the basket on it's side when you're not using them?

Anyway, I hope someone finds this useful, and if you have a better storage solution I would love to know.

Meet Fairy Chloe! (A Gem Of A Challenge 5 - My DT Card)...

What a rainy & horrible morning! Never mind.... it's the 8th of the month and that means a brand new challenge over at A Gem Of A Challenge. This month's theme is hosted by DT Debby, and is Ribbon & Buttons. Hope you like my DT card?...

I have been lucky enough to get my hands on this lovely 'Fairy Chloe' polymer stamp, due for release tomorrow (Wednesday 9th) over at Pink Gem Designs. Don't forget there is 10% off stamps and digis right now!
She was a joy to colour in using my Copics. I added stardust Stickles to her wings, wand and crown.

Sophie In Blue..

Hi...what have you been up to this weekend? I have had very little time to craft over the last few days...stuff to do.... but managed to fit this quickie in. It is for my eldest Daughter's 8th Birthday, which is coming up later this month. Not sure yet who it will be from. Maybe her Sister and Brothers if I make another one from us.

Last years cards were pink, pink and more pink! But now she is growing up, she is a little less girly and blue is her new favourite colour!

The super cute image is Sophie from the DigiStamp Boutique. I think that she's perfect for all ages and occasions.

I have coloured her with Promarkers. But I decided to paper piece her dress using the same dotty Pink Petticoat paper that I used on the card base. The swirly paper is Pink Petticoat too.

Oliver The Owl...

What a lovely day it's been here today. I have done the grocery shop, been my eldest son's taxi service (as he has been to visit some friends), and also managed to squeeze in a card for the I Love Promarkers challenge.

This week is a recipe; 2 different papers, 3 buttons and 1 ribbon.

I will also enter it into:

My Time To Craft (my second entry) for 'wild thing'

I have used this lovely Oliver image, a super cute owl from The DigiStamp Boutique's Offer Of The Month.

I have used a 6x6 scalloped card blank.

I have used 2 different papers from Papermania 'Rose Garden'. The bottom one I have distressed and inked edges with my sandstone Promarker.

The other papers are mounted onto textured kraft card.

The Promarkers I used for the image are;

Sandstone, caramel, cinnamon, tan, henna, ivory, pear green, moss & cool grey 5 (for shadowed areas of the branch. I pricked around the edges of the image to add detail.

I have also used;

Woodware Jane's script stamps,

twine,

acrylic dew drops,

organza ribbon.

Eddie Meets Challenges....

Hi all! What a nice day it has been today. The children have been playing out for most of the day, which is a good thing, as we have had no power for most of the afternoon & early evening, so no PC or TV! It seems to be sorted now hopefully...

Today's card is using another June release image from the DigiStamp Boutique. This is Eddie, and he is also included in the offer of the month. Isn't he adorable?

I have used Copics & Promarkers to colour him.
