Birthday Spike (with a twist!) plus challenges...

Check out Spike! Isn't he the cutest? Along with Coco, he has got to be one of my faves over at the DigiStamp Boutique.

One of my favorite things about Digis is the fact that you can resize them. So that's what I've done here x 3, to make Spike his own little family! I did it in a 'Word' document.
I have coloured Spike and his buddies with Promarkers;
Sandstone, Satin, Tan & Ivory
For the cakes; Rose Pink, Pink Carnation, Ivory, & Lilac (for the candle)
Plus Stickles Stardust to add sparkle.
Sorry for all the pics, I'm just trying to show the sparkle. Why does it never come across as well on photos?! If you click on this one below, you can see the sparkle a bit better.

I have also used;
Papers
; Pink Petticoat downloaded papers & kraft card.
Tools; Marianne Designs Frame dies (the flourishes), Martha Stewart Double Loop border punch & Doily punch, X cut leaf embossing punch and Scallop border punch, Woodware inverted corner rounder.
Embellishments; Crochet flowers, paper flowers, card candy, ribbon, raffia ribbon & more Stickles!

I am entering this into the following challenges;

Passion For Promarkers 'Anything Goes!'
I Love Promarkers for the sketch
My Partner In Crafting Crime for 'Birthday cards'

Well, gotta go now, but I'll be back tonight to catch up on your blogs.
Thanks for looking :-)

Creative Inspirations Challenge #62 - My DT Card....

Hi all!
Another week has gone by already, and so it's brand new challenge over at Creative Inspirations.
This week the theme is DISTRESSED! This is my GDT card.
I am also putting this card into the Distressed challenge over at Crafts & Me!
I have used two gorgeous stamped images from A Whiff Of Joy's Get Well Collection, Little Nurse & Little Doctor.
I stamped these little cuties in Memento Rich Cocoa ink onto heavyweight watercolour paper. I then watercoloured them with Distress Inks;
Antique Linen,
Walnut Stain,
Fired Brick,
Aged Mahogany,
Tattered Rose,
Tea Dye
& Faded Jeans.
I was not worried about the less than perfect finish, as I wanted the images to look as distressed & aged as possible (that's my story and I'm sticking to it - lol!)
I wet the edges of the image and then dragged it through the Walnut Stain Distress Ink pad, and just let the ink bleed into the damp edges. You can see it gave a nice aged effect if you click on the image for a closer look.

The papers are Pink Petticoat downloads.
I sponged Antique Linen & Walnut Stain Distress Inks around the edges of the gingham papers.
I also used my MS doily punch,
Inverted corner punch,
PC generated sentiment,
Gingham ribbon & buttons.

I don't make many distressed cards really. I usually like things to be 'just so', (I'm a bit OCD - lol!) but I really enjoyed just letting go and making this card, fraying the ribbon, not worrying about smudges etc.

I asked hubby if it looked distressed enough. He said it looked as though it had been in a bonfire. Hmmm...is that good or bad then? Well I guess being in a bonfire would be quite distressing!

This is my last card as 'May Guest Designer' at Creative Inspirations. So I say a fond farewell! Thanks for having me ladies!

Whiff Of Joy GDT Call!...

What the heck! Thought I'd give this a shot just in the nick of time....so I'll make it quick!
I've been colouring WOJ images this weekend in the sweltering heat anyway, and thought I'd enter this one into the colour challenge over on Katharina's Blog, red, orange and any other colour (I choose tan), and it's also a guest design team call! Full details can be found here.

I really adore Whiff Of Joy stamps and regularly purchase them directly from them in Switzerland. Some people in the UK may be a bit put off by buying from outside the country, but honestly, Whiff Of Joy stamps arrive really quickly! Sometimes quicker than things I buy from the UK! No customs charges to worry about either.

This is 'Willow's hot chicken soup' and you can find it right here.
I have used Promarkers to colour.
Nestabilities labels 8,
Martha Stewart Embossed Scallop Punch,
The papers are a mixture of Pink Petticoat and DCWV.
The 'homemade' sentiment was cut from a DCWV paper from the Nana's Kitchen stack.
The lovely corner flourish is a Sizzix Sizzlits die.
Oh, and the little chicken soup recipe is one I generated on my PC!

Please excuse the rushed post but I must link this up now. I am really cutting it fine regarding the cut off time for entering!

Hope you've all had a fab sunshiny weekend!

Hello Kira!

Hi all!
Meet Kira...one of the many brand new characters for May over at the DigiStamp Boutique. There are loads of new releases, so it's well worth hopping over there and taking a look.
This particular design is called Kira and toadstool. I think she is so cute!
I used Copics to colour the image. The papers are Pink Petticoat downloads that I have printed onto linen textured paper. I have also used a Papermania scalloped card blank, Craftwork Cards card candy, embroidery thread and flower shaped buttons.

Thanks for stopping by, and for any comments you may leave. I hope to do a bit of blog hopping myself later but my stupid internet connection is being a right pain just lately. It keeps throwing me off when I try to leave blog comments or am half way through doing something. Grrrr!
Bye for now!

Chloe In The Rain (plus challenges!)..

Hi all! Hope you're having a good weekend?
My girls slept at their Nana's last night. Although the boys are still here it's amazing how much quieter it is when you take two out of the equation.
As it is quite calm here today, I've had some time to play!
I thought I would try paper piecing this adorable Chloe In The Rain stamp from Pink Gem Designs.

The pretty floral paper is some I had a while back in one of those 'pick n fill' paper boxes. I thought the tiny pattern would be ideal for this.
I also used Promarkers; Denim Blue, Henna & Tan,
& various Copic skin tones.
Other ingredients;
Kraft Card (Elzybells)
Martha Stewart Doily Lace punch,
Big Scalloped Circle Nestabilities (Pink Gem Designs),
Lace & twine (Quixotic Paperie)
Buttons & Flowers (from stash)
I will pop this card into the following challenges;
Totally Gorjuss 'Round & Round' (for the nesties & buttons.)
Colour Create KHAKI, AQUA, BROWN and CREAM plus Circles (the buttons)
Cute Card Thursday#112 'Someone Special'
Well, I am off to cook lunch now. No roast dinner for us today. I have got some rump steaks I am going to fry, with potato croquettes, mushrooms & grilled tomatoes.

Bye for now!

Purple Coco Bear...

Hi all!
A bit of crafty time today at last! This cute little bear is Coco & Little Hearts who who can find over at the DigiStamp Boutique. I am having a purple phase at the moment and I just just love these purple papers that are in the new Henbury Lane paper packs.
I coloured Coco with Promarker various shades of cool grey. I have also used various lilac & purple shades of Promarkers & Copics.

I have mounted Coco onto shapes cut with Big Scalloped Ovals Nestabilites.

The flowers, black tulle and pins are from my stash. I really love these purple fabric lillies. I have had them for a few years but forgot about them.
Finally, I stamped the 'From My Heart To Yours' sentiment stamp onto the bottom right of the card with purple ink, then added some Woodware mosaic squares to the corners.

I am putting this card into the DARE U 2 DIGI STAMP challenge 'Anything Goes'
Well, I am off to bath the children now, and hopefully (if I don't fall asleep) will be back to do some blog hopping later.

Have a great weekend!

More Martha! (Digistamp Boutique DT Card)...

Hello fellow bloggers. Hope you are all well?.
I thought I'd have more crafty time this week, but it's not working out that way! Little man's still not right and is very clingy. I started this simple little card at the weekend and finished it yesterday. Only just managed to put the photos on my pc.

She is part of the 'Offer of The Month' and one of the super cute new additions for May over at the Digistamp Boutique.

I used Copics & Promarkers to colour her. The Blossom backing paper is a download from Pink Petticoat. I also cut some some of the blossoms out and layered them, then finished off with a few flatbacked pearls.
There's not much else to this simple card except for a Martha Stewart punch and Scalloped Nesties.

Oh, before I go I should mention that Janet's new Chloe stamps are now in stock over at Pink Gem Designs. They are so cute!

Well, bye for now! I *might* be back later with a Coco bear card I hope to finish, if not tomorrow!

Been Playing With My New Henbury Lane Goodies...

Hi! Hope you are all well, and have had a better week than I have.
My Children have been unwell. What with that and a leaking washing machine, I haven't had a minute to myself this week....until teatime today that is, so I thought I'd have a play with my new Henbury Lane goodies.
I ordered them online earlier this week. The papers are GORGEOUS!...but I am so disappointed with the stamps! I ordered the large wooden tea cups one expecting it to be a lovely outline that I could colour with my Copics/Promarkers/Distress Inks etc. But it's actually a solid picture when you stamp it out. I tried it with a few different inks, and in the end opted for Memento London Fog, which meant the image was not too dark. Then I spent ages going over it with Promarkers. There was not much clarity to the image, no clear outlines, so it took ages and was quite painstaking to get a neat finish. I highlighted the finished image with my Signo white gel pen.
I also used a large 8x8 scalloped card blank, my Martha Stewart embossed scallop punch, ribbons and a lovely teapot charm.

I also ordered the 2 clear sets of Henbury Lane stamps, and although I haven't had chance to play with them yet, they appear to be the same 'solid' images rather than outlines. Boo hoo!

Well, that's all for now! But tomorrow is a brand new challenge over at A Gem Of A Challenge, so I will be uploading my DT card in the morning, all being well.
Thanks for stopping by...bye for now!
